Magazine Articles & Books

  • Special Effects - The History And Technique (book)
    By Richard Rickitt
This book may be useful because it explains some of the special efects that were used in the lord of the rings and other weta films. It is a fairly big book and is well written, unlike some of the other sources so it is definately one to rely on.
  • The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The RIng (Visual Companion)
    By Jude Fisher
This book is also very useful as it explains a lot of the effects and work by weta studios in one of thier biggest films, it is well written and official so it can be relied on and very useful.
  • Peter Jackson - A Film Makers Journey
    By Brian Sibley
Peter Jackson's authorised Biography, talks about weta digital and some of thier creations, has a lot of detail about the begining of weta.

Useful Internet Sources & Websites

The links below are the sources that i found to be useful and relevant to my chosen study area (Weta Digital Studios)

  • Weta Digital - http://www.wetafx.co.nz/features/
This source is quite useful as it is the official website for weta digital and lists the films it has been involved in along with the awards they have won and information about thier up coming films.
  • Weta Digital Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weta_Digital
This source contains lots of information about weta studios that is not mentioned on thier website but it is written by the public so should not be fully relied on.
